About Myself

Hi there!     WELCOME TO MY WEBSITE!

I thought you might like to have a little information about me, so here goes -

My professional background is varied, including several different careers in both the private sector and public service, with particular emphasis on administrative management. For the past ten years, I have focused on career counseling; working with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds and at all occupational levels. My education includes a diploma in Employment Counseling from the University College of the Fraser Valley, certificates in Job Club Facilitation and Instructional Skills, as well as training courses in a variety of subjects, including Supervision, Cross-Cultural Counseling and Creative Writing.
I believe my ability to assist people with their careers, comes, not only from my training and experience, but also from my personal conviction that everyone is unique and has something valuable to offer. Having made a conscious choice to change my own career ten years ago, I understand first-hand the difficulties associated with career transitioning, and I am living proof that it can be done successfully - at any age.
Writing has always been in my life; whether on the job, or at home. Professionally, I have written and edited many contract proposals, curriculum, marketing materials, reports and briefing notes. And, of course, as a career counselor, I have extensive experience developing and writing résumés and cover letters. My superior skills in this area have been remarked upon by all my past employers and many clients. In my spare time, I write poetry and was delighted to have one chosen for publication a few years ago.
In my personal life, I am a proud mother of three adult children and grandmother of two. My special interests are volunteering for the Langley Hospice Society, writing poetry, theatre, music, art - and the Canucks.
