The following is a collection of pictures presented,
to try to illustrate the wonderful era of Danish 'Kutters'.
They were (and 'are') of a specific design,
for the type of work they did,
and for the type of sea they encountered.





The top three shots are of the same boat, 'Kolding'. I would guess at her being a 40 footer.
For me, its like looking at a Clydesdale horse...a beauty, made for work.




This could be a 36 footer. Still working. Note the fore mast.




This picture was taken in a Scottish harbour, where many Danish fishing 'kutters' go
during a fishing season.






When finished, to echo the lifestyle of some enterprising captain,
she can look every bit as good as any cruising ship.




Here's another, adapted to a different, quieter purpose
than that of patroling the vicious North Sea.
